Argent is a small town in Infictive County, Oregon, located west of the legendary moaning desert. It received its name from a Roy Tibbens Argent the towns founder.
The town of Argent comprises a historic market centre surrounded by modern housing and a large scale manniken factory. On the edge of the town centre is the popular Arent Country Park.

There is a street market every Tuesday and Friday which is held on High Street. On the first Saturday of each month a People's market is held on High Street. Until recently Argent had a small Artifacts Of The Moaning Desert Museum in the Moot Hall which at some point in Argent's history was a Women's Prison, but it is now a Poldaki restaurant.

Argent was founded by Roy Tibbens Argent in 1886, and incorporated May 17, 1915. Argent named to town after himself out of a greasy desire to be remembered for something in history.[citation needed]
